Grok 4.6 Lands on Microsoft Foundry, Completing the Big-Three Cloud Map

On August 26, 2026, SpaceXAI put Grok 4.6 on Microsoft Foundry in public preview at the same $2 / $0.50 cached / $6 per million tokens as Bedrock and the first-party API, two weeks after the model GA and a week after Amazon and Google cloud ports.

TLDR

SpaceXAI on Wednesday, August 26, 2026 said Grok 4.6 is now available via Microsoft Foundry. Microsoft’s Foundry blog (Mahesh Balachandran, same day) calls it public preview in the Foundry Models catalog: evaluate against other frontier models, deploy managed endpoints, enterprise governance. List price matches the lab API and Amazon Bedrock (Aug 19): $2 input / $0.50 cached / $6 output per million tokens. SpaceXAI restates 500k context and low / medium / high / xhigh reasoning. Microsoft Learn later documents grok-4.6 (preview) as 200k context, Global Standard, Chat Completions + Responses, model-format "xAI" — a docs mismatch to flag, not invent past. @Azure posted the catalog link the same afternoon.

Family Microsoft: “1.5T-scale model family”

Grok models were already on Azure/Foundry in older SKUs (grok-4, grok-4.1-fast-reasoning). This post is 4.6 specifically, 14 days after the flagship launch and seven / five days after Bedrock and Google Enterprise Agent Platform.

Product-line de-dupe: not Grok 4.6 GA (Aug 12), not Copilot (Aug 14), not Bedrock (Aug 19), not Vertex/Gemini Enterprise Agent Platform (Aug 21). Same cloud-distribution pattern as OpenAI Daybreak-on-Bedrock.

Skip same day: x.ai also lists “Grok Bot is now included with more plans” dated Aug 26. Times of AI already filed that seat map under August 21 (spacexai-grok-bot-more-plans). Not dual-filed.

Why this story matters

Grok 4.6 is now on AWS, Google, and Microsoft inside two weeks. That is a procurement story as much as a model story: enterprises can keep IAM, VPC, and existing cloud commits and still call the new flagship. Watch: whether Foundry’s 200k context in Learn is a preview cap or a docs lag on SpaceXAI’s 500k card.
